I saw a brand new Street Bob with Straightshots, installed by a local shop, since Harley Davidson dealer wouldn't install them, and they were incredibly loud. After some digging, found they sell Quiet and Super Quiet baffles that would still give you a lot more umph than factory stock.

The stock exhaust is so quiet and restricted it doesn't feel or sound like a Harley to many people. Sometimes an inexpensive set of slip-ons will change your whole experience and it will seem more powerful. Typically if you want to actually get more incremental power you must also change the intake and remap your bike's computer with a tuner of some type. Even then the difference in power is negligible unless you also change the cams. All the above can get expensive. Choosing an exhaust system should be done systematically and over time. Too many guys on this forum have burned through big bucks by making the wrong choice. Often several times. DO NOT BUY A FULL EXHAUST WITHOUT HEARING IT IN PERSON ON THE SAME BIKE AS YOURS. YouTube doesn't cut it when it comes to sound. Which brings me back to slip-ons. This inexpensive mod will buy you time and make a positive change to your riding experience. Browse the forum classifieds for a used set and throw them on.

I've got an EVO era Bagger that was freshened up a couple of years back and went the classic engine upgrade, Andrews 27, 10:1 pistons, some head work, ignition upgrade, CV carb installed, etc.
When it came to my pipe I really wanted to keep the duals, but my research convinced me that a 2 into 1 was the way to go, and I preferred a nice but subdued rumble at reasonable throttle openings.
The Supertrapp gave me the ability to modify my sound, and luckily the quiet end of the sound produces the most power at lower RPMS without giving up a lot at the top, great for my heavy bike.
Where do you ride most times (RPM's), where do you want your power?
