I don't know if you guys have ever heard or seen the Yamaha Stryker... but this new Sport Glide is literally an exact copy.

The most common thing I hear from friends and co-workers, motorcycle enthusiasts is that they would love to own a Harley, but can't afford it. So Harley goes and creates an all new chassis which is shared across a multitude of bikes.. lower cost for one frame. They then raise the prices across the board.

If people are already having trouble affording your bikes.. why would you raise prices. Why not share some of the savings with consumers..

Honest question, why would someone choose this over a road king? Price is roughly the same.

Back in the early 90's you could buy a Sport Glide (FXR) or an Electra Glide Sport (FLH). Both came with bags, windshield or fairing, and dual disc brakes on the front. I owned both, and they were two completely different rides. I expect the new Sport Glide and the Road King are the same, simiiar mission but two different approaches.

HD riders and forum members should embrace the choices they have, not sit around and bitch.

I love the looks of this bike. Haven't seen one in person yet. I think they might have done a bit better on the bags, better lines, dropped them down a little maybe, but ... yeah, definitely a cool looking bike.

This and the Breakout are the two best looking new Harleys.

For one thing in running order the Sport Glide is 698 pounds and the Road King is 836 pounds.

Yet when they came out they were considered an abomination, the end of Harley Davidson etc. much like the bellyaching that is going on now by those that have had too many Twinkies.

definitely an eye of the beholder thing.

To me it's UAF and looks like was a reject from Return of the Jedi.
