Well. I'm from Texas and understand a little about your areas economy. Real $$s adjusted for time, several years ago I was about 70% of where you are. Sucks be REAL LIFE can be hard. I kept the wife in a decent newer car, I had used cars and trucks I was constantly moving and flipping (so that was no expense) house was 1000Sq/Ft, 3 kids. I looked in the garage and 2 days later I sold my LowRider that wasn't paid for.. Not a hard decision at all. After things caught up, another Harley was in the garage.
It's all about priorities - smart phones, boats, tv packages, eating out, stuff adds up quick.
Like others have said - list EVERYTHING - from house payments to a bottled drink, and please don't tell us you're spending $6-$8 a day on smokes or dip.

We're waiting...
This isn't that complicated. In order of probability, (assuming you're not trying to put four kids through Harvard.):
1. You bought way more house than you can afford.
2. You filled the house with **** you don't need, on credit cards.
3. You eat out at restaurants, a lot.

I don't understand it, I make great money, over 100K a year and I am broke as hell!
My only debt is house, wife's truck, and my Harley. Everything else is paid for and I still can't afford squat. Depressing this time of year when I want to buy gifts, but I don't have the jack? Recently wrecked my RGU, and my family wants me to get rid of the bike and get a car....again. Even if I wanted to I can't afford it. The bike, the insurance, and the gas is right in my range.
How do you get through "the lean years" without selling everything? I am always stressed over money and can't figure out wTF???

Been down this rabbit hole, sucks doing a serious self reflection then manning up and doing it but the rewards later are worth it on personal level, trust me.
