I think he meant he had an older Softail and didn't like it, not one of the new ones.

I'm not pissed about it. I'm indifferent to it. The chances of them bringing that platform back next year or soon lie somewhere between nil and no way.

Are you talking about the new Softails or the old ones? There's no way the old ones outhandle or outperform a dyna. I've owned a softail, and ridden a lot of others, and there's no way I'd ever own another of the "old" ones. I hate the "B" engine, it's smooth as a Honda at idle, and vibrates like crazy at 65+. So un-like any Harley I've ever owned, and I've been riding them since the mid-60s. It's not the lack of shocks I mind on the new softails, it's that balanced (soul-less) engine.

I really really miss the 1936 Knucklehead.
Probably the most modern design for its time EVER and to this day one fun bike to ride.
Look utterly fantastic too.
Oh wait.
They don't make them any more.
Darn.

Just another rinse and repeat thread from the time when the new models were released...

The Dyna as we knew it is gone & never coming back. They had to make a new frame for the 107 engine. And wait until more changes come down the line to meet future emissions regs (like water cooled engines). We may look back at this day and age as "good old days."
