GF wants to chime in on this one:
I had a Dyna LowRider, a Triumph Tiger, and a Kawa Ninja 300. The biggest challenge I had was the very quick reminder that the LR's friction zone started almost immediately, the Tiger is in midrange, and the Ninja is late.
Gearing, body position, weight and handling on each is different, body position is different. It takes very little time to adjust once you get underway because the mechanics are mostly the same.
But what remains exactly the same is you and your judgment. Riding riskier on the street based on motorcycle choice is your decision.

I was considering purchasing a second motorcycle. I have a 2016 Softail Slim S, and was thinking of a lighter, more maneuverable bike, like the Triumph Bobber Black.
A thought occurred to me. I am so used to the handling of my Softail, if I switched to the Triumph, and started getting used to that, would I be more at risk of being in an accident? Thinking that I would start to try to handle the heavier Softail like the lighter Triumph, and start to misjudge corners, or braking, etc?
Thoughts?
