Hey all,
I am Brian and wanted to share my Dad's situation. My father is dying from exposure to agent orange. At least that is what they have told us. Pop was admitted to the VA hospital in Baltimore 3 days ago. He was coherent the first day but has not improved and is now on oxygen and not talking much. Looking at all these things on this forum, I did not realize everything that he was sharing this with you. He gave me his password yesterday and told me to let you know how he is doing, Dad has always been adamant about helping people in all situations. I remember a couple years ago on Christmas we all got a hand written card saying " I have given you the gift of paying it forward" and that had he spent the Xmas money on others who needed it more. I do not ride or own a motorcycle. Dad has been passionate about bikes long before I was born. My father enlisted when he was only 17. My grandparents, I am told had to agree to let him enlist. Many times I have heard the tale of how he spent his 18th birthday in boot camp. Sorry, I don't know how to describe what a fantastic father he has been to me. He always loved me and I am the person I am today only because of him. Doctors are telling us he doesn't have much time left. In his will it tells me that the Patriot Guard Riders will take care of him when he dies. Dear God, I am crying hard now..... Please remember my Dad

I can relate to him very much as I too gave up riding when my first child was born and didn't take it up again until all three of my Sons were older enough that I felt they could move on in life without me if needed.
I'm not a big religious person, but I'll say a pray for your Dad and your Family.
May you in time find peace.

Brian,
Thanks you so much for checking back here for your dad. I know this is a big burden for you right now, there is not much I can say other than try to stay strong. Lean on God, Family and friends and keep your Faith. Your dad is an awesome human being and you are very fortunate to have had him as a father. We are praying for him, you and your family that you find Peace while traveling this journey. Check back from time to time with us if you need friends, hearts and ears to lean on going forward. Spend as much time with your dad as you can and let him know the gates of heaven are being rattle for him.
Godspeed and God Bless.

Brian...thank you for the update on your father. Just following his posts here has revealed what a truly class-act he is. I'm quite sure that many of us can only hope that when our time comes, we can come close to the kind of man your father is. You have been truly blessed.
We'll all honor him with his last Patriot Guard "ride" when the time comes...even if we can't be there in person. He, you and all of your family continue to be in my prayers. God bless.
