Bought one used bike. Never again. They're like a box of chocolates. Ya never know what you're going to get.

For me it is a time thing and the fact I want to know what I am buying and want to have a warranty, I do keep my bikes after the warranty has ran out but I know how it was ridden, how it was taken care of and that maintenance was done. I also don't buy used cars for the same reason.

Pretty sad I've never bought a new bike. It's the depreciation and my love of old harleys. The 98 I own rn is the newest bike I've owned n probably my last cuz they don't make bikes w carbuerators any more. Kinda stuck in the 70s I guess.

'No payments' is my motto. Car, truck, jeep & toys paid for.

Dumb question - Is bending over anything other than negotiating?

I'll add my two cents that no one will read.....

Several years ago there was a post on here that asked something like,

"I parked my bike and left it running for 8+ hours, do you think it's still ok?"

Dude apparently was going to run right into the house to grab something, then got distracted and forgot about his running, air-cooled motorcycle sitting out in the sun for 8 hours.

This is why. And the million other reasons other people gave, especially Harleys. I will buy used vehicles, but only reluctantly.

It's a lead pipe cinch there are at least a dozen trouser coughs on the seat of even a new bike by the time you buy it.

Because I like the new bike smell, and not the swamp *** smell of someone else on the seat.
