Default Inner Primary Seal

I have a 2001 twin cam, when i took the inner primary off it has an O ring for the crankcase seal. Before i took it apart, I ordered a complete primary gasket kit that came with the O ring, I also ordered the standard seal from JP called crankcase repair kit. Which should i use? Thanks

Not sure what came with the JP kit, but the HD part is 11147B which is an o-ring. I’d use whichever is the o-ring. If they’re both o-rings and are the same size, use either one.

Use the one in the kit and send the jp one back and get your money back.

No, it’s not. RTV is no substitute for the correct gasket or seal.

This is is why I don’t buy used. I don’t like finding and fixing “repairs” done by people who shouldn’t be allowed to touch a screwdriver.

..... If u read your factory service Manuel, it clearly states black silicone RTV sealant IN ADDITION TO the proper GASKET. Guess you have to super specific, step 1, get toaster, step 2 plug in.... good grief what a loser....

Yes sir you 100 percent correct on the black RTV......
Cant stress enough read your manual and look at the parts microfishe......or it will leak!!!!
The newer primary's like 2007 and up are not like ours. So do not let someone that owns a newer bike try to tell you different!
