Question 2012 1200 ran great, now backfiring and bogging down

hey everybody. i have a 2012 HD Seventy-Two 1200xl (fuel injected) the bike sat for a while due to some legal issues but i took the bike out monday and it ran GREAT better than i ever remember. it started to rain and i was about a quarter mile from home so i just went home and pulled in the garage, this whole time it was running absolutely tiptop. i got back on the bike wednesday and it started right up but i heard it backfiring. i was thinking that’s probably just the bad gas or something. here’s where i should explain the bike was stored in climate controlled environment but without fuel stabilizer, i did fill the rest of the tank with fresh 93 and a bottle of lucas fuel cleaner before i even took it out this year.
anyhow back to the backfiring, i jump on and start to ride down the street and the bike is acting like it isn’t getting power. i pull on the throttle and it goes but just barely. i make it down to the bottom of my street and it dies. try to start with no luck and begin to push it home. i stopped halfway home and tried to start it again this time rolling about halfway on the throttle and it started but was running really rough and when i let off the throttle it would die again. i hooked it up to the computer and i can see my duty cycles on 1 and 2 are getting up to 100-120. are my injectors clogged? fuel pump? please help me figure this out

You need to check that your battery is fully charged and that your battery cables are tight.

Do the diagnostic and check for error codes. That should eliminate trial & error and get you in the right direction.

A few years ago I had a 2004 Sportster 1200C that did the same thing. Turned out to be the negative ground from the battery was loose and corroded. Easy fix. For what it's worth.

but would a loose battery really cause the duty cycles to be up as high as 100-120?? though i did just replace the battery and it could be loose

sounds like you may have a clogged injector or one of the injectors has gone bad. This is the same issue I had last year with my ultra. Turned out I had a bad injector.

i can’t keep riding it. it’s gotten to the point where it won’t even stay running.
