Breakdown after dealerships are closed
I ride a 2007 ultra classic. Only run during normal dealer hours. usually about 250 miles from home. Now going to venture out in trips about 750 miles. Would welcome any suggestions or experiences about how to get bike fixed in a dealer closed situation. Only broke down once and was close to dealer. Got towed and just made it before it closed. wife came and picked me up. Was bad lgnition switch. Thanking after hours or weekend breakdown.

Have the bike & you towed to a hotel/motel near the dealer. Deal with it when they open. If it happens on a Saturday evening and service doesn’t open until Tuesday, it’s a bit more complicated. Even if service is closed, most dealers are open on Sundays and Mondays. Have them hold the bike til they open.

I’ve left for 2 to 3k mile rides over holidays where a dealership can be closed more than one day. Knock on wood I have never been broke down and not got home under by own power over 10 years riding now and 100k miles. Keep you bike in tip top shape and just enjoy the ride. If something happens a good tow service will be your best friend.

Similar to automotive travel but with less product support.
Educate yourself on the bike and how to fix things.
Carry some flat repair stuff and some simple tools.
Join AAA with motorcycle coverage or similar.
Just because a dealer is open does not mean that part is available or that dealer will address repair at that moment.
