See how close to the miles you need to be. My dealer mentioned it was ok if you were within a couple hundred miles of it.

4/5 weeks is for VIP plan holders. The issue is the San Francisco Bay Area has a lot of HDs owners and roughly 6 dealers within 50 miles of me. When I called they all tell me its the start of peak riding season and it's crazy busy right now.

My dealer does first come first serve on saturdays for service. You may ask if they do that then show up about 30 min early.

Service contract or not, I wouldn't wait 4 or 5 days for a glorified oil change. Get a manual, tools and supplies. Free yourself from that nonsense and get a refund.

VIP's *ss.

My scheduled appointment is for June 23rd and I have 4,896 miles on the odometer. I made the mistake of buying the prepaid service plan. As of today I have just over 3 years remaining on the contract. I should have just gone with DIY. Live and learn I guess.
I don't get it. So what, if you don't get the service at or before 5,000 miles is your contract is null and void?

If money no object.
Do an oil change yourself.
Skip the filter to save $$ if need be.
That is what I would do to get the break in oil out of the engine as recommended.

Then have them do the full 5k service in a month or two.

As for prepaid maintenance.
Read your contract for cancelability!
There are so many negative clauses in these, such as only serviceable at the selling dealer.

Good luck.

Go buy a jug of 15-50w mobil 1 automotive oil, hell you could probably run walmart supertech for the month and be fine. You'll use 3.5-4 qts. I wouldn't bother with the filter. Take it in June 23rd.

I guess you don't have any dealers doing the "Express Lane" services

Maybe I missed something here, but a SERVICE Plan is only good at the Selling Dealership?
So, OP cannot go to another dealer unless he wants to pay out of pocket for the service..
