Beware of EagleRider Motorcycle Rentals
My bike is in the shop being repaired. I won't get it back until late August at the earliest.
So, about two weeks ago, I reserved a Road Glide through EagleRider Rentals & Tours. In case you're not familiar with EagleRider, about a year ago, H-D formed a partnership with EagleRider which "...supports our efforts to grow ridership by making it easier for more riders to throw a leg over and experience the thrill of riding," Harley Vice President Mike Kennedy said in a statement. I was leaving in about 11 hours, making the drive to Rogers, Arkansas and starting my long awaited vacation. My rental was through Pig Trail H-D in Rogers starting this Saturday and ending this coming Wednesday (5 days). I was to meet up with my cousin to ride the Ozarks out of Eureka Springs and Harrison.
Today, I got off a little early from work. I came home and started getting all my riding gear together and getting packed up for the trip. I was stoked! About 30 minutes after getting home, I get a call from the dealership. The lady who handles the rentals tells me that EagleRider came by and picked up all their rental bikes to make room for their new stock, which wouldn't be on site until the middle of next week, so she had no bikes to rent. I said, "You're kidding, right? I have a confirmed, paid for reservation! I have hotel reservations. I'm meeting up with my cousin, who took off work so we could tour the Ozarks together. I spent hours planning our daily rides on Harley Ride Planner. I have .gpx files on a thumb drive to load our routes onto the Boom! navigation system. I'm packed and ready to hit the road!"
Needless to say, I'm feeling pretty low right now. Not to mention, I tried cancelling my hotel reservations, but it's too late, so I don't know if I'll ever see that money. I still haven't received a cancellation confirmation from EagleRider, so I'll probably have to go through the trouble of disputing those charges with my credit card company. What a hassle!

Wow, It's hard to imagine a company doing business like that and staying in business. I can only imagine how pissed I would be. I guess the only advise I can give is, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Get on the phone and make them miserable, ask them if they are willing to pay your air, hotel, and any other expense you have paid out. Don't let them off easy.

And their prices are ridiculous. I was going to fly to Milwaukee for the 115th and rent a bike. A Heritage is $149 per day + $40 concession fee + 10 per day environmental fee + special event fee + a lot of other bs that added up to about $700 for three days. In 2015, I rented a new Road Glide from Thunderbird Harley in New Mexico for half of the price. I also looked at Daytona in October and it is even higher.

I know how infuriated you are now as I got screwed in a similar situation a year ago in April. I ended up finding a rental bike about an hour away and everything ended up being good.
I don’t think I will ever attempt to rent a bike again from that experience. We are planning a trip this fall down the West Coast that was supposed to be on two wheels but decided on a convertible from Budget instead because we don’t want to take the risk of no bike when we get to Seattle.

Woof. Thats not good news. I joined their club recently because it would save money for me on a rental in October when I travel to California. I am sorry you're going through this. I have only heard good things from them. I would be persistent and call the corporate headquarters. Surely they have to do something.
Good luck, and keep us updated.
