Any Recommendations (weekend rides OH, KY, Ind area)
I'm looking for places to ride to and camp or cabin (maybe motel) starting from SW Ohio (Dayton) for 2 or 3 day weekend rides. Ideally within a 200 - 300mile range. The wife and I ride two-up and I'vebeen making reservations blind and hoping for the best, but if someone has some bike friendly camping spots or cabins that you would recommend it would be helpful.
This weekend I was thinking of heading into Kentucky toward Cumberland Lake.

Southern Indiana has some nice riding and camping. You can ride to Nashville then to Bloomington and Lake Monroe. I recommend camping in Hardin Ridge.
You can also ride to Patoka Lake near French Lick. Camp in the Newton-Stewart campground. There's a riverboat casino in French Lick too.
You can take US37 all the way from Indy. I70 to I465 South to Harding Street exit (that's 37), then South all the way. If you want to go to Nashville, you will have to cut over before Bloomington. Maps are very easy to Google.

take us 33 where oh meets w va. and take it down to, I think it is george washington state forest. awesome awesome mtn. scenery and some of the greatest roads I have ever ridden. quickly passed thru on way back home from myrtle so didnt do much sight seeing, but it was beautiful.

I took a trip a couple weekends ago to the old man's cave for a day and up to wayne national forest. The next day we then crossed the river at ravenswood wva and took 33 to from ripley to spencer. I have an uncle in the town of Clay WVA, so we took 36 from spencer into clay. I agree that is a very nice area!!!!

Head south from Dayton, pick up 52 and follow the Ohio river. 52 turns in to rt 7. Take it to Wheeling. Great scenery and traffic is usually light. Stop in Portsmouth and visit the floodwall murals, and don't forget your camera! Attached are some pics of the murals.

If you're on Hwy 52,consider overnighting at a bed and breakfast in Ripley.Rural Brown County has some of the prettiest riding you'll ever see, hills full of twisties, beautiful streams, covered bridgesand rolling farmland.Biker friendly bar called Snappersin Ripley on the riverfront and a fifties diner called Rockin'Robins thats a fun place to eat, also on the riverfront. Sunset lounge at the edge of town as you come in, is nice also.
Good Luck

Newport on the levee has their annual motorcycle rally this weekend on the 30,1,and 2nd. It is right on the Ohio river on the south side of Cincinnati, Kentucky side. Its only about 50 miles from Dayton, but it could be a good first stop on your way south.
