Default Highway pegs...

Anyone know how these are supposed to go together? The footpeg doesn't fit into the slot with the little spacer.

I tried that, it's too loose. The peg will not stay up.

I have used the identical ones in chrome a couple times and many others. Just have to use something that will not damage them as suggested a mallet to tap them in. A tight fir, of course but unless they are boogered up or flawed it will go together, WITH the spacer. Take into account the finish, or extra paint if you will. They look like the HD Streamliner correct? Should not be an issue. Just be VERY careful in where you put the clamp and make sure it is where you want it to be height wise the first time. The 360's are nice.

You need the spacer or they'll wiggle and won't stay upright when you pull them up. Just tap them in with a rubber mallet and a soft surface underneath so you don't scrath/dent.

Put one of the parts in the freezer for a few hours.

I used a vice to squeeze it in. Not a fun process but it worked...eventually

This, if the lube and mallet doesn't work. Put the peg in the freezer and/or heat the receiver up with a hair dryer or in the oven if there's no plastic on it.

These have been a pain in the butt for me in the past too. I solved it, with a rubber mallet, but it took a good amount of time to get it done - the darn spacer kept flying on the ground. It is a frustrating process, but it eventually will get together.
