Yes, we (wife and I ) actually drove too it from Lead..385 is a nice drive...they have a great downtown near a river...cute couple of bars, obviously not too busy because it's far from the hub-hub is Sturgis....It has a cool museum in an old scholl house on top of a hill..took about an hours to go through it.....for us it was worth the drive, just to have some roads to ourselves instead of the thousands...

I was not impressed by hot springs. Crazy horse and mount Rushmore most see. Right by mount Rushmore there is iron mountain Rd very tight curves going down hill, awesome view. That's how ended up in hot springs after that road and couple others.

There are some cool things down that way. Iron Mountain Road is worth checking out. Needles Highway is pretty cool too. Custer State Park is nice country.
Hot Springs is a neat little town, but nothing spectacular to me. The hot springs are nice. Worth the drive down south though. The Black Hills are really nice country.
If you are looking for some stuff away from Sturgis, another place to check out is the badlands east of Rapid City on I-90. Wall is an interesting place. The badlands are really pretty at sunset.
