Default Air-Lite Soft Lowers

I've been trying to bring up Air-Lite's sight for last two days and I either get a time out error or some other random message. Does anyone now if they are having a problem? Hopefully they didn't fold. I really like thier lowers and had plan to buy a set for my Fat Boy.

Hey Jaystn62, their site comes up fine for me. When did you get the FB? Something told me you would be back.

I've tried on 3 different devices and have got the same result. I got the Fat Boy back in July. Loving it so far. Thanks.

For the price, quality, fit and how easily they install there is no comparison to the HD branded nylon versions.

I always heard that the wind hits these types of things and causes all kinds of turbulence. Is that true? Was looking at a HD pair and was told to keep clear of them.for that reason.

I have a ‘16 RGS so I have the fairing vents. However, even with them closed, I don’t notice any more turbulence than no lowers on. I believe on the newer bikes, the crash bars are angled more so that the lowers direct a greater volume of air to the center of downtubes vs the older bikes. This helps mitigate that “push” effect that lowers can create.

They still do block some wind though allowing heat to build up behind the lowers where your legs are. It’s not recommended to use the Airlite’s above 50* temps although I’ve used them when it was closer to 60* and haven’t found the engine to be running hot enough to be concerned about it.

I wish I could tell you the brand of my lower crash bar covers, but they were swap meet specials. That being said, crash bar lowers are a superb addition to any touring bike. Some of my friends only run them in cold weather. Not me!!! I run them year round.... I just love them. They take pressure off my legs and calfs, and just make the long hauls more enjoyable. Regardless of brand, crash bar lowers are an excellent investment. But that's just my humble opinion.
