If it makes you fell any better, I stopped to help a guy on a NEW Harley on the side of the road, I have extra points, condenser, spark plugs, bulbs, fuses, etc. and a reasonable amount of road tools. None of that stuff applies to the new bikes, so he was SOL. I did let him use my cellphone to call the dealer for help though.
Guy could afford a new HD but not a cell phone? At least ya stopped and did what ya could.

OP, FLORIDA. FOLKS can be testy. I have friends there but they are special. LOL

Should have rode the fatboy.
Lesson learned? Be prepared to do for yourself.

I typically don't need help. I've got a cell phone, tow insurance and a poncho in case it rains. I think most folks are like that now.

^^^ This exactly the same for me.

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone rides with a cell phone, and not everyone owns one. I don't own one by choice. I hate the damned things!

I have a Lepera bare bones for daily riding (I use a mustang on trips). Anyway, the former, while looking great, will turn your behind into a burning ember after a couple of hours. I pulled off the freeway a couple of weeks ago to air my roasting posterior and the only two bikes to pass me asked if I needed help (honestly I did, but nothing they could do for me)! It's a really great community.

I've noticed a lot of things in my life and one of them is this. Just because a person rides a Harley, doesn't mean that every body else that rides a Harley is their so called brother or sister. Times have changed and people need to grow up and realize that. On a personal note, I probably would have stopped and at least made the effort to see if that person needed any help.

Well I'd have stopped ... for two reasons ... one I'm old school and was taught that was the way it's supposed to be and two you were on a Shovel :>)

The last guy I stopped for acted annoyed that I stopped. I try to get a feel for if someone needs help or not, usually its hard to tell.
