Is the dealer messing with me?
Went to the dealer to get some exhaust gaskets today. Asked the service desk for two, the guy went in the back and came out with these two, gave them to me not in a bag or anything for $15. (Read below)
I found these online - https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...ust-gasket-kit
the description seems to make them superior, and they are cheaper. Is it okay to use what I have on an evo?

Looks like the standard exhaust gasket (part #65324-83B) that sells for about $7.00 a piece. The one you linked to sells for $8.95 each. If you feel more comfortable using the Screamin' Eagle ones go for it but I've used the others without any problems. As Ryan pointed out, one of them is goobered up a little but nothing a little massaging can't fix.

Yep those are stock exhaust gaskets. The dealer just charged you for the ambiance, overhead and the T-shirt girl walking around. The difference between what your have and the SE versions are yours are tapered and SE are square. One look at the end of your header pipes will tell you what gasket to use. A flat header pipe like the one below works best with square gaskets and a tapered head pipe works better with tapered stock gaskets.

That's heat resistant header paint. The end came off in Utah last year causing an exhaust leak because the exhaust flange uses it to secure the pipe to the head. To repair it, I had a guy drill 4 holes in the flange and weld it to the pipe. Cleaned it up, painted it, then mounted and good to go. You can't see the paint because of the heat shields. It's a V&H Pro Pipe.

Why? Lots of parts that aren't individually packaged.
Those exhaust gaskets are just tightly spun steel wool. They are designed to be resilient so they can conform to the header pipe flange. If you get one that's a little munged, it's no problem. Just press it back into shape.
