Huh? The NADA clip I posted shows a range of N/A up to $5,735, depending on the condition. You're estimate of $2,500-$3,000 falls within that range.

I know that none of our toys should ever be considered as an investment but look at it this way...that sporty will probably be worth 2500 for the rest of its life while the 4 wheeler will continue down. Plus you said you have 2 wheelers so why not add a 2 wheeler to the stable? I don't know much about different years of the sportsters and the changes that go with it but if the bike checks out and looks taken care and maintained well , then make the trade and don't worry about it not being the latest and greatest version.

Post a pic of the 2000 sportster as well, but If it was me I would trade. However either Sportster is going to cost you a small fortune, because here is what's going to happen. First you will fall in love with the little Harley, but then in six, to twelve months, you will out grow it. You will then trade up to a Dyna or a Softail, and then in about five to ten years you and your girlfriend, or your wife, "or both LOL" will want more comfort, and then you will start hunting for the Road King or bigger.
