Any lubricant safe for metals will work fine. What do you use on your door hinges?

To respond specifically to your question, I use
this. this.

I use Dri-Slide as well..... handy and easy to use. And I only have to worry about clutch cable.

I wipe on a dab of white lithium grease. It's an aircraft mechanic thing.

It doesn't have the fancy needle, but a few drops on top of the pin will work its way through.

I use sil-glyde from AGS. It keeps the rubber from drying out and works great to maintain the rubber supple and parts well lubricated. It also displaces water very well so parts do not rust on you. Another great thing about it is that it does not run or sling so it stays where you put it, unlike oils or light greases.

I take mine apart every 5,000 miles, clean them and grease them with wheel bearing grease.
