Another vote for Andrews 21. Pulls right off idle, smooth throughout the range, doesn’t drop off much at higher rpm’s. Makes the bike very enjoyable to ride.

Probably better engine breathing and mufflers are justified, possibly an engine fuel-management module. Beyond that, don't be a fool.
Strange response from a guy that did this to his bike:
2006 Ultra Classic. 95" Screamin' Eagle upgrade, CNC ported heads, S&S 570G cams, SE roller rockers, V&H headers and Ovals, PC III, 10.5 HTCC pistons, and lots of other small aftermarket accessories.

S&S 510G - G for gear driven. Get rid of the tensioner shoe issue forever. AND get noticeable power improvements with the 510.

A big air sucker
Andrew's is a great choice
And torque inserts in your pipes too...
Will still be loud and have better pull.

Such a warm friendly helpful place to seek meaningful advice. But then of course, I apparently "don't belong here" either, since I have different opinions on some things than the majority. I'm not the stereotypical "Harley guy." At least i'm not to stereotypical Harley guys. That's kind of an oxymoron to me as bikes in general and especially Harley's have kind of embodied the concept of independence in my mind.

i have 2003 WIde Glide and I would like to do this modification. Total mileage is 14.5K I had the tensioners checked by the local HD Dealer at 14k and they were judged to be in Near new condition.

Is there any downside to having the S&S 510G or comparable installed? I won’t do the installation myself, looking for a local mechanic here in Phoenix/Scottsdale to do it.

The only downside is it isn't free.
