After all, the dealership made one problem a bigger problem. I appreciate their honesty and being transparent with me about breaking the bolt. I have always trusted this dealership and that's why the bike is there for warrantee repair. But in this case, is it fair to me for them to make a dollar off of the sale of some parts?
Again, I don’t see why the dealer should be obligated to sell you the parts at cost. The mechanic messed up, but again, it’s being made right. The dealer made a fair offer to discount the stage 3 parts, but they did not force you to take the deal. If you had said no, they would have put the bike back to stock configuration with oem parts.

FP could be wrong about them only replacing 1/2. I just know you cannot buy a half. And I assume it was because some operations on their finial machining was as a assembly of the two halfs.
My brother was a machinist for more than 30 years and I did learn a thing or two form him. But, I'm 100% correct, that they are only replacing the right side case. So says the Service Manager.

It sounds to me like the dealer made an offer to install the Stage kit as an opportunity if you want it since it is already in pieces. If you say no they will just put it back together. If you wanted a Stage kit this is the time for it and that is the opportunity they offered you. I don't believe it was supposed to be mandatory.

I was adding to above post. So reread them. Mothership obiviously knows half is no problem. They just won't sell you half

I totally agree with you about putting the bike back with the oem parts for free. But, I'm starting to think that the offer for 20% off the stage 3 kit wasn't the greatest deal. After all, I wasn't even in the market for a stage 3 kit in the calendar year of 2019. I did give the green light to proceed with the install of a stage 3 kit at 20% off, but the more that I think about it, I do not believe that the dealership should profit one penny from their mishap. I totally get the broken bolt and broken tool problems, as I have turned may of wrenches over the years. My most recent hot rod build is a custom 67 fastback with 610 rwhp on the dyno.

At the end of the day, I truly fell like the fair thing to do in this case is to charge me for the parts at cost. Nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe go talk to them in person and if they’re not willing to meet you, then have them nix the stage 3

20% off is getting pretty close to cost.

Personally, I'd take the deal. Your stage 3 will be mega cheap, and covered under warranty.

In my original post, I was thinking you may be wrong only because that is what they told you. To some, that would sound best. Just not to me.

QNman, you are probably right!!!!

I maybe making a big deal out of nothing. After reading on this forum for 2 weeks now, everyone has a different opinion and different advise on the problems that I have had with my M8.

After all, if I can afford a 40K motorcycle and then buy the matching tour-pack with all the goodies. Also adding a CVO Ultra heated seat and back rest to use when we ride two up. Then what's a few dollars between friends.

Thanks,
