some gift cards can only be used at the dealer they were bought at. Someone gave me one and I've had it for nearly 2 years as I don't live near that dealer. Something to think about when 'giving gifts'. Kinda a hassle.
Even exchanges are that way. I got some gloves as a gift that were too small. I couldn’t return them to my local dealership. At least I was only an hour ride to go to the purchase place.
Now that there’s a online Harley store . Can we use our gift cards that came from a Dealer on the new website ?
I was told at a local HD dealership that their store specific gift cards cannot be used to purchase items from the HD store. Also the dealership is not permitted to place orders to them. So there's no way to apply store gift cards except to the store itself. That's the very purpose of store specific gift cards.
FYI, I received a HD ecard from my daughter. Redeeming it at the dealer was a bit of a process but it worked. Also happen to notice in the fine print it had a expiration date. It offered a reissue option beyond expiration date by notifying HD. That sounded a bit frightening.
