Although I haven’t experienced it personally, I’ve read that the concave inside surface of a windshield can do the same thing if the sun angle is just right.

Oh, I have never seen a view like that in mine however

Turn the bar another angle and see if the other mirror does the same thing. If it does, then yes it is the mirrors.

That's one hell of a mountain range. And those hills in the background are pretty cool too.

I see in your profile that you are from Ohio. Seems odd that the sun would have enough strength this time of the year at your latitude to do this damage. I am almost at the same latitude as you and the sun can't even melt the snow on the ground, much less melt a seat. If it was summer it may be probable. I looked at the photo again and those look like blister marks from a hand-held butane torch or an electro-piezzo lighter.

Maybe you pissed someone off and they burnt your seat?

Why dont I believe this? The distance from the mirror to the back rest is what 3 feet? Im calling it didnt happen. Those are multiple marks from multiple angles.

Someone should call the Mirror Police....there has to be an SOP, A procedure or a law on mirror angle. eh?

You can't trust those Malteses.
Upon reflection, did you decide to change your mirrors?

Possibly because it's somewhat implausible?
