Default Don't buy these mirrors!!!

These mirrors use the sun to burn your leather.

This is what it looks like. Burn scar.
I noticed the backrest on my tour pack has a burn scar all the way across it. What on earth caused that? These maltese cross mirrors! That's right, one day i witnessed it smoking as it sat out in the sun. Upon investigation, i discovered the sun was reflecting from the mirror, focusing a small focal beam onto the leather backrest, burning it as the sun traveled across the sky. Remember when you were a kid and you used a magnifying glass and the sun to fry insects on the sidewalk? Same effect. If the sun shines in your state, this could happen to you!

It's not the mirrors fault if you had them angled wrong. I know a lot of people that live where the sun shines, including myself and we don't have any issues with our mirrors.

There's also a difference between a mirror and a magnifying glass.

I would think standard mirrors would do the same thing, no?

When Chuck Norris looks in those mirrors, the mirrors burn.

Man, this is the perfect place to use this expression, sorry...
”Well, then park it where the sun don’t shine!”

I had them angled so they gave me a view behind me and to the blind side from a comfortable riding position. Parked it and walked away never thought twice about it or heard of this happening before. Figured I'd let people know.

Thats right. But they have the same EFFECT. the sun hits the mirror, then reflects back to the leather the size of a pea. No good man.
