Yea, I'm gonna have to call bullshit here. Having just rebuilt a 1994 Road King I can tell you for certain that parts are becoming hard to get and that's an engine they took all the way up to 1999.
And no, they don't last any longer than anything else. Coincidentally they're cared for better by their owners than by other manufacturer's owners, but you can't attribute that to the manufacturer itself.
