Do you group up with other bikers you come across on the road?
Out of curiosity, when you're riding on the road and come across other bikers, do you group up in formation with them and ride in the same lane? I'm talking about random people you come up on and not buddies you've already known. I see benefits and pitfalls. If you're in a group you're more likely to be seen for safety reasons. I also see it as, you don't know these other people, yes you're bound by the same hobby, but some people might think "mind your own business", "get away from me", or, "**** off I don't know you!"

Me - If I don't know ya, I aint riding with ya.... And by no means would I ever share a lane or have anyone share mine (THIS IS NOT a good practice for many reasons).

No. I don't just stand next to people at the bar I don't know either. If I was walking some where I wouldn't just join up with someone..
You could even argue it throughs off the count or how they are keeping tract of everyone, granted you are more worried about losing people.
So I don't from social stand point, but as said I don't want people around me I am not familar with their skill and how sober they are.

Not random people, but going home from Tomahawk, I came up on a club that I knew and they waved me in. I hung in the back until I had to turn off and we made great time, Like I said, I knew them and they knew me. Otherwise, no way.
(On the way up, I passed an entire HOG chapter that was riding like old women.)

Yes, I do because I believe that there is safety in numbers. I will ride up behind them if overtaking and hang back 2 or so car lengths in an opposing lane position. Most people wave when they see me back there but for the most part the women panic and change lanes. I take that as a cue that I am uninvited and move on.

[QUOTE=RK_Classic;18177084]Personally I do not group up with others, I do not know any of these guys riding styles, so I just keep to myself and move on.
I've seen too many people have accidents riding on charity runs with people they don't know. There are all different skill levels out there,so I only ride with people I know. If there is a situation I know how they will react. Every one else is an unknown quantity.
