Bikes in Denmark? Isn't 1HD1 an American model? Maybe thats what your friends are questioning.

It looks like all the HD VINs started with 1HD1 for the 1992 model year.

1HD1 is the HD vin code prefex since the dawn of time, or at least since the requirement to have a federally conforming VIN

1 is U S Manufactured, HD1 is manufacturers designation.

Looks like a good VIN number.
If they're trying to undo the deal. Don't do it.
Never know what they did to it?

Looks good to me as far as that funny style scrip. How deep does it look sanded off. On my 04, the letters are filled with offwhite paint. So they show up with black powder coat frame.. Was your frame repainted black? Then someone sanded it to highlight vin? That is wrong for an 04 to have black filled numbers and letters. Does it have the decal strip lower down on frame?

I can see a concern here. There is also no asterisk beginning and end. A real one has 3 bold and an extra lighter horizontal line. Think it's there but filled with paint.

No concern, no asterisks nor lines on mine and mine is also a 92 FXDC. I still have the decal strip with matching VIN. The font also looks the same.

On my '90FXSTC, my VIN boss was black like the frame, with white letters & numbers. I think your frame mighta been repainted.

Hey guys

Thanks a lot for your comments....

You have really convinced me NOT to take back the motorcycle.

The man bourght a used bike from a private person, he has no right to claim his money back - because there are NO PROBLEM..

As I am saying in one of the først post, frame number is very often beeing clean because traffic inspection crew asks (especially Harley Davidson) owners to clean the frame number.

Another thing could have happened. Harley Davidson is REALLY a luxury high end motorcycle in Denmark which very few people can afford.

20 years ago a Harley was even more rare here. Almost only loaded rich members of Hells Angels and Bandidos owned one. (In Denmark a Harley is taxed with 10% costum tax, 25% VAT and 180% registration tax) (we call it socialisme) (buy 1 motorcycle and pay for 3) (its true)

So I am thinking - in the end of the 90`es the police tried to bust the two motorcycle clubs by looking up members private ecconomy. One of the ways was putting acid on the paint of the frame and x-ray the frame number. And actually the Dyna was earlier owned by a member of Bandidos in Denmark. So very possible it has gone throug a vin number X-Ray.

What police might did to my old Dyna doesent allow the buyer to cancel the deal.

THANK a lot for your input.
