Read the article on BikeEXIF and it's quite a build. The LED headlight makes it look full competition mode but it has a plate on the back.

If Harley can make a 750, why couldn't they have put it in a sportster and sell it for what one of the new water cooled 750s cost? Is there something the matter with air cooled bikes, and why is it cheaper for Harley to water cool an engine?

In street legal trim, I think one would be a blast ridge runnin' the back roads and burnin' short jaunts on the 2 lane flat tops around here.

Larger engine costs more, that's why Sportster's engine is more expensive than new XG750 engine.
Also, compare their look. Air-cooled Evo has much chrome and designed to look cool, and that's also expensive. Water-cooled engines usually are just engines... where nothing to look at. In best case you get some air fins (XG and some Honda's twins for example) and good shaped airbox.
And Sportster has more expensive build: everything is made of steel, almost no plastic, much chrome. That's why it can't be cheaper.

The way it is looking, I think it might be the other way around... and it looks like the same people that are hiring the curators are the same people hiring the Board of Directors... not real Harley people, just seat fillers.

30 years ago we took an unused 80 Cr and installed:
rear rim for road tire
sporty kick starter
small battery and lights
bicycle Speedo to be legal
front brake
kickstand
riding is hairy
What will give out first?
Gas, battery, or kidneys?
