Although grass clippings are low on the list of possible dangers compared to other things, it's nice he's trying to do something to make things safer.

Yep, some of these jagoffs around here blow mounds of grass on the road. When I am in my peterbilt I enjoy blowing it right back to them!

"Still here"

Grass is actually a very serious danger. It turns a dry road slick, and the rider has no time to prepare for the conditions. Blowing grass on the road definitely needs to be a crime.

I stop and have words with a homeowner who's blowing grass on the road.

The same goes for cigarette-flickers.

The only thing I want on the road is asphalt.

Almost everyone I know is a rider or associated with motorcycles in some form or fashion. Many of them make it a point to throw trash in yards where home owners decide to blow grass clippings in the road.

It’s illegal to throw grass clippings in the road in NY, but lots of people do it anyway.

It’s against the law in Philadelphia, but they do it all the time. It’s not just the home owners it’s also the landscaping companies. In Philadelphia the police are so short they don’t do anything for these infractions. Hell they don’t even come to accidents unless there are serious injuries.

I read somewhere couple years ago two motorcyclists were riding in the country and homeowner mowing blew all grass clippings onto the roadway. They went down and one died. He was sued and the cyclists won that case. It is illegal in Michigan (from what I understand..... read warnings from a governmental agency advising this) about blowing debris on the roads. I see people blowing grass and leaves on to the roads....the seem to flow downhill and clog the drains. Then they complain about flooded streets. So stupid....they won't listen to reason. People are idiots.....
