Default 77 Shovelhead puking oil out vent tube

Hey all,
I wanted to get a kick only bike and I’ve been out trying to practice starting her every day.
As one can expect I am having about 50/50 success starting as a newb....
Today I went out to start her after an unsuccessful attempt yesterday. Went through the process and no dice. Pulled the plugs(were black but not wet), cleaned them and kicked her over a few times with the plugs out to clear it.
After I got the plugs back in while priming her she made a weird gurgling noise while kicking her over. Looked down and saw a 1/4 cup of oil on the garage floor.
I am assuming the crankcase is full of oil because of all the kicking and not running??
Thanks for your help.
Mark

You answered your own question. Get her running and go for a decent ride. You will be fine.

LOL, Every shovel does that after sitting awhile. Once you get her revved up and the check ball seats it will stop.
I keep a 9x12 cake pan handy just for this reason.

Post a picture of her. We like to look at other people's bikes.

You can also replace the check valve spring and ball

Yeah, already have “Sportster Knee” but I ain’t gonna give up yet.. I would think if she’s tuned properly and has good gas in her she should kick over pretty easy if I’m doing my part.
