I believe that Ohio just passed a law/fine regarding grass clippings on the road.

In illinois most people put their bikes up for the winter.

I did go down once on wet tree debris in the fall. I thought I should be taking corners faster. You would be surprised how fast you can pick up a bike when the light turns and cars backed up.

Is it ice? I dunno, But obviously it is something loose on the road similar to gravel. Shouldn't matter on stretch stretch at constant speed.

Plus the the damn farmers.

Yes, apparently there were grass clippings on the road, but that road is as straight and flat as they come. I've ridden it many times. Sorry to hear about such a tragic accident but there must be more to it than just grass on the road.

I dropped my Triumph one time in the rain making a turn from a red light and going over a manhole cover. Oil from cars on top of metal when wet=SLICK! F..ing person in a car behind me went around me and kept going. A nice cop came by about 30 seconds later and helped me get the bike upright. No damage other than my ego.

I have stepped on a clump of wet freshly mowed grass and lost my footing. Wet grass on a smooth surface can be dangerous.

I can see it happening on a blind curve going 30+ mph.

Please please clean up after yourself.

it sure is amazing how many experts we have here.... trash/debris/grass/leaves/dirt/gravel in the road is of no danger to these experts. They simply ride through it. My neighbor, and experienced rider, lost his life on a curve on the highway due to gravel on the road. Hit the gravel, front end went out and he hit the guard rail. Yes on the helmet, he was wearing. He may have survived had the guard rail not severed an artery and he bled out before help got there.
So i would love to have these experts give the rest of us unskilled, inexperienced riders lesson on how to ride over trash and debris.

Watch the road and adjust you speed to conditions, I live on hardwood forest land, in the fall there are leaves all over in the summer grass cuttin all over.

Sad to see this, but, if you are paying attention to the road you can maneuver around these clippings fairly easily. Now, obviously if you on a sharp turn it might be more difficult to see, but I feel speed is the ultimate factor, moreso than the clippings themselves.
