So pay a premium price for a sub par motorcycle (in your and the dealer's mind). Pay the dealer to replace the pipes and do a stage upgrade including mapping to make sure it sounds and runs right,. Then pay more for repairs because your warranty is voided due to the upgrades. Seems like the smart thing to do. Harley Davidson's marketing is great at getting more money out of buyers lol.

That's why POLARIS motorcycle profit was DOWN 58 percent last year, because the demand is so high.

The M8 bikes are fine right from the factory...it is the rider that wants to change things...." I want louder exhaust" I want more power" " I want a new air filter" So what does Harley do...it gives you options to do all these things AND keep the bike under warranty....it is the riders decision to make changes with non Harley parts.......and you think the factory should honor that warranty???

All you have to do is to not buy an ESP , trhen make your changes AFTER the 2 year Warranty is over....problem solved.

Welcome to the Forum ... Had you have read the recommended procedures for joining your first posting would have been in the "Welcome Section" and introduced yourself ... As mentioned earlier, this particular topic ( warranty cancellation / voiding ) has been discussed at great length since the Government stepped in and slapped HD for their effort ( read lack of ) regarding tampering with emissions and products designed to circumvent them ... Rendering inoperative, altering or removing any federally mandated emissions control component has been illegal since before Moses parted the Red Sea ... After years of sidestepping the law Uncle Sam decided that it was time for serious action ... Also, many believe that it was a way ( voiding/cancelling the warranty ) for the Mother Ship to exonerate themselves from any responsibility towards the owner for any liability that might arise in the future regarding future claims on the scooter ... Most here are very good guys and are ready willing and able to help but ask that you do a little "homework" before submitting a question ... To answer your question, I've read replies where members have stated that they have had warranty claims denied because of "unapproved components" added to the scooter ... A search might aid in your query ... Good Luck

His post isn't first, but definitely one of the most coherent. Very informative with reference to an actual document instead of uncle Joe's cousin's friend's husband's wife at the dealership.

Are they cancelling warranties on 17 and 18 only?
What about 16 with after market parts( with an extended warranty)?
