Brilliant 1940's "training film" - sorry if it has been posted before

Nice footage of a 1948 police Harley. The first year of the Panhead and the last year of the Springer front end.

Cool friction growler too.
Most of these guys were WWII vets.
How did those soft caps stay on in the breeze?
Bringing the stub book on the first contact with the violator is not recommended.
Smog and early "freeways" were a precursor of things to come.
Sadly from a time when cops were still respected.

What? No Ponch, John, or Kawasakis?
Somewhere on this forum there's footage of military training guys riding these old things like dirt bikes.

Fun! Wish I had that choke lever setup on my bike. Left foots going to be very busy operating the clutch and siren at the same time.

I have never seen this before. Thanks for sharing this as I live in LA. Trying to figure out which parts of the city and what roads and freeways are shown. Things have changed quite a bit in 80 years.
