Okay so I own a 2015 Road King. Vivid black, 103, cruise control, and Boom audio added on, in fantastic shape. Here is a pic of it.
I was at my local dealer and they have a 2016 CVO Road Glide. Bike is about the same mileage as mine (3k difference), has the 110 engine and all the bells and whistles.
Here is a link to the CVO. https://www.beachhousehd.com/Motorcycles-Harley-Davidson-CVO-Road-Glide-Ultra-2016-Shallotte-NC-a9d647ce-a407-46cb-920a-aab9015fbb82
My dealer is offering me $11,500 for my bike as trade in. (It's paid for)
Now almost all of my riding is 2 up with my wife except when I ride to work, and we average a couple hundred miles a day on weekends (weather permitting).
We are also planning on taking some trips next season.

What is the goal? The RK does just fine on long trips. If comfort is an issue, a new seat might fix that. You want more storage perhaps? A detachable tour pak will do that.
Not trying to shy you away from anything. Just offering a perspective. It might be one of those, 'the grass is always greener' things.

A good buddy just dumped his very pampered and in beautiful shape and low miles 15 CVO Road Glide for 18K. Okay, so the bike is officially 5 years old but cost just shy of 40K new. Buying a bike like that makes no sense to me. I like too much making a bike my own and will pay a lot less overall to do so minus the painted frame.

... be careful on that test ride if the wife is riding w/ya.
.. the RG has differently shaped bars than your King & will handle differently
...... if you're planning on longer trips, you'll appreciate all the stuff they build into the cvo
.... i know I do
