So, I listed my HD on Cycletrader a month or so ago and got no replies.
Listed on Craigslist a couple weeks ago and got 6 already.
1 Lowballer showed up and offered 200 less than the dealers offered.
Another Asshat showed up. Passenger in the car and wanted a test drive.
Didn't waste more than 5 minutes with him.
"$6000.00 cash deposit and you can drive it".
Wasn't even dressed properly for a ride?
So, 2 of the Craigslist replies asked for a "Vincheck"?
Was not aware there was even a "Carfax" type thing for bikes?
They sounded a little fishy?
But sounded reasonable?
Researched Vincheck sites and went ahead and got one.
One of the probable scammers offered up a "link" to his suggested site.
Let them know I got a report, it was clean and the could see it if they showed up.
Both of them stop sending emails.
BBB shows this to be a Scam and they try to get you to click on their site for 20 bucks or get more info for identity theft.
Maybe others know about these tricks. First time for me.
Cycle Trader may have weeded them out already as I got no requests from that listing.

I have to laugh at ads that say, "Cash in-hand or no test-rides."
If I have never met you, no way am I showing up to your door with a large amount of cash in my pocket. It'll never happen. I will show up with my driver's license clearly marked with a motorcycle endorsement, and I'll also have proof of insurance. If that's not good enough for you, I'm walking away.
I have bought and sold many items on Craigslist, including cars and motorcycles. To date, everyone has conformed to my way of doing business.

If any schmoe showed up to test ride one of my bikes with zero collateral other than "good faith" I'd tell him to pound sand.
