Default Idle

2008 street glide idles between 2000 and 2300 on start up then for quite awhile afterwards. Seems high to me. Ant advice? Thanks

Let it warm up.

I have had some funny stories taking off to quick on FI before it warmed up.

Also what is a bit?

Well then why don't you share it for the next guy?

I have had mine take off and idle screaming high once in awhile. But not every time.

2300 does seem a bit high.

I reset the idle. Did this by kill switch to start. Turn on ignition til engine light goes off. Turn off ignition til security light goes off. Repeat for a total of 4 times. She now idles at 1100.

I have read that. Was it doing it every time? The reason I wonder about this, is mine just does it once a year or so. I wonder how many people really have it doing it every time, or just not doing it again.

Last 3 days or so it started doing it. Everytime I started her. What I read is because of the wired throttle when I would kill it with the switch it would be revved a little so the computer changes the idle the next time to compensate. To prevent it make sure you're not touching the throttle when you kill it. Rode her twice since and all is good. Hope this helps.

And what year bikes does this apply to ? I didn't think this worked the newer bikes.

That can occur with 2008 (first year TBW) bikes, Cause is twisting the throttle when hitting the kill switch. I think they prevented it in 2009.
