Detail and cleaning at bike week around Daytona
After some health issues recently I was looking at the bike and wanted to get it ready for Daytona. The reality hit me yesterday that I am no longer able to get on the ground and polish chrome wheel and all of the other details that come with a Springer front end. A few months of grime is trying to take over my chrome. If I waited to get it done at the rally, how much am I looking to spend and how easy is it to find someone?

Bikini washes are abundant, but that is more for eye candy then actually getting the bike detailed properly. For me, I would get it done at home before I left, no rush and can get it done correctly. My local dealership has a mobile detailer they recommend, I bet your dealership has someone that can come to your place and get it done. Good luck.

i agree. if you wait to have it done there, then you're going to be in line with 10,000 others. any detailer is not going to be putting forth his best effort. all about turnover and getting the next one in.
either get it done before you go, or you can do just a cursory clean up before you go and then have it fully detailed after you get back.

Trailering these days. As recent as 3 years ago I rode everywhere and poked fun at those who did not. Life has a way of making you humble.
Same with washing---never paid ANYBODY to wash a bike. However, after a few small strokes that have slowed me down quite a bit, I am NOT doing a lot of things. Hence the whole purpose of the thread.
Quite a few auto detailers locally, but can't seem to find one for bikes.

Your in luck! I have the perfect low cost solution to your dilemma. Teenagers. That's right, they really are good for something. We may not be able to crawl and bend like we used but them youngins can.Under your strict supervision and a detailed explanation of what needs to be done.Get the supplies togather and show them how to use it. Who's knows- it could be the start of a part time business for an enterprising kid. Teenagers- they're everywhere!
