I’ve been looking at 2017 Crushed Ice Street Glides and wondering how hard it would be to paint my Black lower fairings and tourpack the same color. Can a painter match the crushed ice paint?
The fairings and tourpack are pre-Rushmore parts, but that is a different discussion.
Depends on the painter you choose I suppose. Matching "specialty" paint can be hit or miss. Colorite has is for $200 a quart..😳
Thanks. Not being a painter, I was wondering if those types of colors required several different coats to get the effect. $200 and labor is still cheaper than the cost of purchasing them from Harley. If they can be purchased.

Most of the fancy one's do. I think Crushed Ice is a pearl color, so not only will the paint itself be expensive, it will take a deft touch from the painter to get the right look.
Best you can do, I'd say, is ask around at some local shops and see what they say.
It should be hard to match the most beautiful color ever to grace a motorcycle!!! Otherwise, all you guys would have it!! (This also applies to Frosted Teal Pearl, the most beautiful color ever to grace a motorcycle)
What I found out is dealers and indys seem to know the guys who can do this. Just calling around, the answer is always yes..
This.
When I had my bike at the dealer for some damage after a wreck, they outsourced a local paint shop some of the parts that didn't need replaced. They came back perfect.
For what it is going to cost you for paint, reducer, clear, activator, shop supplies, primer/sealer to cover the black, prep the parts, etc etc etc, I bet you could buy brand new ones from HD, and they are going to match.

Ya. Mean this? Harley has done some awesome colors, but IMHO not so much lately. Color selection, saved me the cost of buying a recent CVO.
