I was able to acquire one of these About 10 years ago. It was supposed to be my wife's first bike. We picked it up from a gal, here in town for $800. It was mostly original. It was missing the original gauges and bars. Had some wear and tear. She decided it was a little too big for her to start out on. So it went in the garage for a while. One thing led to another we needed our house painted. So I traded it for a paint job on the house so we can sell the house. I basically traded it to him for $800 off the paint job which is what I paid for the bike. He was an old friend of mine. Fast forward he ended up going to prison and needed some money so in turn I gave him that $800 back again and received back what was left of the bike. Turns out he had gotten into drugs. So the bike was now missing the original seat and sissy bar. I had also acquired a set of original gauges, original air cleaner cover, and some original turn signals. When I get it back all of that was missing he tried to make it into some kind of a bobber. And rattle can the Chrome and some other parts black. Fast forward a couple more years the bike left me again. It ended up in Florida of all places. With another friend of mine. That friend ended up in a divorce situation after he had moved down there. So he came back to the Northwest with bases with nothing so over the course of a couple months I was able to arrange to get his stuff and the bike back up here and for doing that I got the bike back for free. But now it's in pieces:-( it's a rolling chassis I've got a long road ahead of me and I'm missing parts. If anybody knows where I can get an original seat sissy bar, with the emblems on the back of it Thomas since that was on it when I got it. Also the chrome battery cover with also emblem on it. One mistake I saw in the thread was that it said the exalh1100 came with the 9 spoke aloys. Which is false. I have the original parts catalog for these bikes. Although you could get those wheels if you wanted. The Liberty Edition actually came with aluminum Tru spokes. Which I have on mine although somebody painted those black as well:-( luckily for us we have an excellent Wheelman here in Spokane. Anyways if anybody knows where I can get in touch with somebody who has decals I would appreciate it. Or any other parts like the original Buckhorn handlebars or a set of gauges. I do have the license plate frame. I actually held on to that when I got rid of the bike the first time. But it's going to need a paint job and some body work on the tank and the front fender and I don't know if I can save the decals that are on it or not. It will never leave my side again it came back to me three times. For some reason it has tagged me as the one it should be with. And it was a lucky thing I got it back this time too cuz that guy was going to cut the fenders up and make it bobber out of it. I guess the younger generation just doesn't appreciate nostalgia. I'm sure there can't be very many of these left on the road. The top picture is from about 2 years ago. Before it left and went to Florida. The other two are how it is now. Luckily I drive for a trucking company he was able to get it from Florida back up to Washington State, at no cost to me. I guess I shouldn't say no cost. Cuz it's going to take a lot to get that thing back on the road. I would appreciate any advice and tips.

Sounds like everyone was "make it your own".
What a shame.

Nice bike 👍🏻 I've got an early '84 (August '83) FXRS with a very early Evo that has the Sandcasted heads and jugs.

Wish I had mine back; I was a fool to sell it:
