Dealer Trashed My Bike

Dealer Trashed My Bike
Hello,
I’m looking to this forum for the best outcome in this situation and what should my expectation be. I have my 2020 heritage picked up for an oil leak. In conjunction, the shop looked at some other things. Today, I got the bike back and it has been damaged pretty good. I called the dealer and will hear back on Wed on the process going forward. The front fender has nicks on the front and back side, the fender has multiple deep scratches, the frame has a gouge by the clutch cable adjustment (in the paint), the heads fins are scraped there, the tank is scratched and nicked on both sides, the rear jugs top cover is scratched up and the hub was covered in fluid (hopefully suspension fluid because I did have them check the brakes). The bike has 476 miles on it and I won’t be riding it. I did make a video to cover my bases. Anything else that I should do? Expect? I feel like I should call my insurance just so the estimator can evaluate the frame. I’m not trying to shoot for a new bike here but I know frames are delicate when it comes to motorcycles and titling them.

I hear you...I was just thinking out loud. Maybe as part of the final resolution you could get them to cancel/ refund the prepaid maintenance plan. Not sure about the details of the one you purchased but often times they're not all that beneficial to the buyer anyway. Hoping for a good outcome for you.

Document everything, and don't let up.
Over 15 years ago a dealership scratched paint, broke a lens and glued it back together, and a variety of other things on my Road King. When I let them know, they denied it all, and said I should talk to my wife, she probably did it.
I was calm, but firm with them and kept on them about it, providing photos and regular phone calls. They finally paid for getting most (not all) of it fixed.

I hate to paint with a broad brush but most Stealerships suck.
There are some good ones here and there - but they are few and far between.
Call me cynical, but if you don't think they did anything wrong to you - it's too late; they already got away with it.

My dealer goes over the bike with a fine tooth comb, and documents everything when I drop it off. Therefore, there is no debate if something happens. I hope they did this. But still, give them the opportunity to make it right. But, those are random damages...it’s not like it happened with one drop...

I had it picked up but the dealer. I’m not sure if they went over it at the shop before working on it or not ,but I did not go over it with the driver and sign something, I trust they’ll make it right. I guess, what is right is my question for the forum? For example, the nicks down to metal from taking off a gas tank, I’m not willing to accept a dabble of touch up paint. Go a step further, I opted in for the dealer service plan when I rather just handle that myself now with this experience.
