Default Dealership Inventory

Visited my local dealership yesterday and they had a total of seven bikes for sale. One preowned, one trike, two CVO touring models, two touring and one softail. Talked with the salesman and he explained how hard it is to get any type of motorcycle or watercraft which is making the preowned bikes and jet skis prices much higher. He said it should be back to normal by next year but in the meantime dealers have to rely on accessory sales and service to survive.

There was a change in HD's transportation network - Ruan hasn't been great.

Some dealers are getting plenty of product, others, within the same geographic region aren't - due to screw ups with that supply chain vendor.

Dealers I've been in over the past 2 weeks - plenty of new and used inventory and it's turning over. Go in there 7 days apart and you'll not see the same bike twice.

well the new inventory certainly slowed down turn over on the used bikes in the three dealerships I follow; I am looking for a good used M8 SG as a possible next bike.

purely observation of how long some bikes are staying available and nothing more

Nothing is moving in the northwest. I watch inventories at all dealers, including non-harley stores, CL, marketplace, etc. and nothing sells. I see the same ads pop up over and over. What they do have they are asking way over msrp as well, even for used. I've had my Dyna listed for over four months and only one nibble that fell off the hook. It is bleak out here. Also interested in a Honda adventure bike but they aren't shipping at all to dealers. Inventories everywhere are empty.

It's not going to be better next year. The new plan for HD is to drive up sales and demand by limiting production and reducing the models they offer.

Dealers in Arkansas and Oklahoma are well stocked with new bikes with the exception of the 114 Streetbob.

Dealers around the St.Louis area have plenty of bikes, used and new. Good deals on used bikes.

I'd think it's normal for a dealer in Upstate New York to have low inventory at this point. If I was MOCO management, I'd ship units to areas where the riding season comes earlier.
