Default Please help for new foreign Fat bob rider

Hi, everyone.

I hope you guys stay warm and safe under this pandemic era.

I live in South Korea but I was studying from US for 3 years(2006-2009) in New Jersey.

While living in the United States, I dreamed for muscle car(Mustang, Camaro) and Harley Davidson.

Mustang in Korea is still too expensive for me (about $60,000 for GT convertible and every year have to pay $2,000 for tax),

but I just bought used 2019 Fat Bob 107! (for $19,000. Brand new Fat bob 107 is $26,000-$27,000)

As I am a new Harley-Davidson Rider, I'd like to get some advice from you guys.

My height is 5'5" and when I first pressed the back brake pedal of my Fat bob today,

I felt a little bit difficult due to air filter(probably due to my short legs).

If I exchange the air filter with the HD heavy breather product, can I solve this problem?

Also, Vance High output slip-on is already installed by previous owner, do you guys recommend FP3?

Hello, and welcome. A few things:

- There are a number of seats available that may help you with reaching the brake pedal a bit better.
- I’ve found that it isn’t a problem with the air cleaner so much as the air cleaner cover. Every time I’ve done a stage 1 on my bike, I’ve used the round Harley high flow filer and either the round Harley bobber style cover or didn’t use a cover at all and both of those choices helped with leg clearance. (I’m 5’ 7”).
- I’ve used a FP3 on my ‘17 Slim for 3 years now, and I’ve been totally happy with it. I just bought another one for my ‘21 Forty-Eight.

welcome aboard..start slow and cautious..you just might get used to the awkward feel about the rear brake pedal in time..

Can you recommend a lower, two-person seat you've used?

Sorry, I cannot. I only ride solo. But I’m sure someone else here can recommend one.

Don't get the Heavy Breather if you're having trouble reaching the brake! The Heavy Breather will make it even harder.
