Default Bike won't start

I have 2008 Night Train. When I turn on the ignition the fuel pump doesn't prime and the bike won't turn start. My independent mechanic thought it would be ther relay. Changed it and still nothing. If I pull the fuel pump fuse and turn the ignition I can here the relay click so I put the fuse back in and the bike starts. He said he checked all the wiring and couldn't find anything. He is 95% thinking it could be the ECM. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Did you try it a few times more after removing and reinstalling the fuse? Trying spraying some contact cleaner in the fuse panel and clean the prongs on the fuse.

I tried it a few times and it worked fine. Then the next morning no go. Want to make sure I am not missing anything before going with the expense of a new ECM. Is there a way to test an ECM?

You said you didn't know if there were any codes. Can you check. Don't be buying parts until you know what's wrong, like chasing a rabbit down a hole.

Have you unplugged the ecm and checked the pins for corrosion , breaks etc . Spray a little electrical contact cleaner on the connector and pins ( ecm ) , then let dry before plugging it back in .

I'd spend some time with some electronics contact cleaner, some emery cloth and clean the fuses, the terminals that the fuses slide into. Take apart the ignition switch and clean those contacts. All that might cost you 10 bucks...always start with the free/ cheap stuff.

Thanks everyone, going to try what you all suggest here first. Have to pick the bike up this week and get to work with diagnosis.

Was the bike running when you got it? If so, what was done to it?
