Default Harley Stock Prices

I was looking at Yahoo Finance this morning and checking some of the prices on my Watchlist of Stocks. I just happened to notice HOG in the list so I checked on it's info. They by/SELL/HOLD section rating showed a BULL signal for NOW, Short Term, and LONGTERM. Surprised is a mild term for describing my reaction. That darn stock is up almost 18% YTD. Boys and Girls, that beats the S&P and DOW by a longshot!

WE gripe a lot about what we think are negative things about Harley's Marketing and leadership, but with numbers like that, the Sneaker Salesman isn't going anywhere. The Market loves all those Ivory Tower Board Members!

I'm not predicting anything one way or another. I'm just reporting stock prices. If leadership is driving them to an early grave as we think, they have a LONG TRIP ahead of them, because there is a market that says otherwise...at least for now.

Clothing and accessories have been a marketing strategy for HD for over 100 years. They make a lot of their money on these items, I can not give them grief for making money.

Essentially the same price it was on Feb23, 2018. Only 1.35% dividend. Coming into winter. Sales results will go down, and probably stock price, too.

Well, that's one way to look at it. Another way would be "gee, Harley stock is up 50% since July 1."

As much as I love my motorcycle, it's extremely rare that I would buy any individual stock, and Harley-Davidson doesn't even come close to making the cut.

In 2009 during the financial crisis I bought a few hundred HOG at around $8. Sold it a few months later for around $13. Thought I was Warren Buffet II. Then it went to something like $70 over the next few years. Oooomph!

Most stocks they'll tell you to buy. Because the so-called 'experts' are actually stock salesmen.

not really. If you are in the investment advisor business, you make commission when they buy, you make commission when they sell. A better way to look at it....on any given day millions of shares change hands. All the people think they are making the right move -- half are selling, half are buying. Your call.
