22 CVO RG + 23 CVO 120th RG + 23 Fast Johnnie all in 18 Months
We purchased our 22 CVO RG used in February with only 3600 miles on it still under factory warranty.
I was told that the guy who owned it had to have the newest 23 CVO 120th anniversary Road Glide.
Fast forward and a customer of my wife’s was sharing details of his Harley with her and she showed him pictures of our two bikes. He said WOW, the yellow bike is just like the one his friend had. It turned out t9 be the same guy, the same bike.
Yesterday while at Smokin HD the guy my wife knows walked up and said hello. He asked if we wanted to meet the original owner of our bike that he was also at the dealership.
He introduced us to Ray. Ray asked what we had done to the bike and I shared we changed the handle bars, added slip ons and the Cali-Moto Baja headlight conversion.
About that time I received a text from service the bike was ready. We all walked back there and he looked at the bike.
He shared two things with me. First that he gave the bike away, he lost $10k in just 10 months of ownership. Thank you Ray, we greatly appreciate it.
Next he shared that he made a mistake with that Yellow color and was just SICK of it after buying it. Funny how it’s become our favorite.
I asked how he was enjoying the new 120th Anniversary CVO Road Glide and he shared he had already traded it. What??? Are you kidding me!
Yeah he said he hated it, that it made him feel like an old man. He kept saying it was an Old Man’s bike.
At the Myrtle Beach Bike Rally this May, only three months after buying the 120th CVO he traded it for a new Fast Johnnie with the 135CI crate motor installed. He’s owned this bike five months now and has 1000 miles on it.
I shared that we have already added over 7k miles to the odometer on the 22 CVO. He was a nice guy. I feel he just needs to start riding more, and worry less about what he is riding.
Here is his Fast Johnnie.

The market
It’s guys like this that buy the Harleys many moan and groan about regularly.
Just rode with a guy who also bought a new CVO and any time we/group stopped, all he did was complain. If it wasn’t about the bike it was about the services performed. Now that doesn’t seem to be what Ray was but both obviously have more money than happiness.

He told be where he lives, and we are 10 miles apart as the crow flies. I am usually within 2 miles of him daily if I drive to our Huntersville office. He did mention that he was hoping to sell him home and move to the mountains, that he wants a stream in his back yard.
Maybe I see a Pan America in his futire?
I wish him the best.
