I managed to spend fifteen minutes walking around Atlanta HD today without a single sales person approaching me. I was greeted by the front desk and even one of the young women at the clothing counter but I guess wearing mesh having a full face helmet flags me as not a Harley rider... ignoring the bike rode up on. Though listening to one fitment specialist trying to talk a customer and his brother into both buying bikes was a bit cringe and honestly I really found it annoying his complaints about the new locking gas caps on the 24s. Customers don't want an opinion unless they ask for it.

They had five or six 24s inside to include a CVO and CVO ST (did not take pic of that one), outside there were six or maybe seven of the 23 CVO in Ford Fusion Gray, and what appeared to be another dozen more 24s being prepped. Quite a few of the Atlas Silver Metallic and Sharkskin blue paint jobs. The White is actually very nice looking up close with lots of flake. Just a few quick pictures... but it should be obvious I really like the Burst Blue. The Billiard Gray actually looks good in person but it did have me realize that Sharskin Blue is the same treatment.

I get it you want to walk out of the dealer, and not have to do anything. I get the value to you. But you guys kinda make me laugh with the sanctimonious holier than thou belief.
but can you really call it 'custom' if all you did was slap a bunch of p&a parts on it? i say not. personalized, maybe. but not custom.

If you are picking out the parts, I think you can. Not like many people have a metal shop in the garage. Picking out your parts to me, is a step above just buying bike that someone else picked out the parts and is same as the next guy

No, I don't have a lot of bolt on parts. But I also don't expect people to stamp out their own parts.

Now I love my local dealer.
Can i borrow this ?
These guys are so annoying.

a lot of people don’t have a very good eye for design or customization and what I see more often than not are bikes that look like sh@t. I am sure the owners are happy, and good for them, but a lot of bikes are butchered in terms of style. At least with a CVO, you have professional designers (not that the factory doesn’t put out some duds). And when Harley gets it right, like the 2024 CVO ST, it is amazing and far superior to most ‘custom’ bikes.

CVOs are clearly not for everyone and that is ok. The price point alone is absurd for a motorcycle…I get that. But I know I could have never made a Road King as nice as my CVO Road King. And I have a pretty good eye for styling.

For me the color schemes of some of the CVOs is just gawdy. But I guess if you want custom paint, you want it to stand out.

But I am not sure you can make the case for CVOs because people bolt on the wrong crap.

I like touring bikes. Maybe someday one would have all the features. But for me the limited has what I want. I suppose a better stereo, but again I am happy with limited, it reminds I need to update older bike.

If I want better shocks, I would rather go with a shock company. But again I do understand it, you can walk out that day with fancy bike. I don't care enough for some of trim items to bother. And for me the price is put off.

The red and black road king is nice color scheme in your pic. Some are loud.

I get compliments on it every time I go out. And as far as others having the same paint, I have only seen 2 of them the entire time I have owned mine while out riding. I didn’t buy it because it has a CVO badge…I just fell in love with it and still love it.
Well said. We all like what we like. I would have paid full CVO MSRP for Billiard Blue if it was a CVO scheme when I bought new.
I was happy that I got it as a Special, and got to add everything that I wanted, and now at a price much further north of a CVO, I am nearly done

By the time I wrap up, they will have a new CVO color that I love, will have worked out all the new model bugs, and I will lose my *** on a trade-in deal!

Mine is orange and black and it is a loud paint. Its not for everyone but the paint is what attracted me to the bike. From there, it was the mix of black and chrome. I also realized I prefer non fairing bikes (after owning a 2008 Ultra Classic, 2011 Ultra Limited, 2012 Street Glide).

Not sure I would call that loud. Looks good. I'd prefer chrome nancelle.

so you basically want a 'participation trophy' for your bike? so what if not many people have metal working tools in their garage? that just means that there are fewer 'true customs' out there, making those that actually did some creative work that much better vs. those that someone slapped some grips on and said, 'my bikes a custom'....

i've done a lot of stuff to my bike, changing it from stock. and while some of the things that i've done are not mass produceable, i would not call my bike a 'custom'. i've 'personalized' it to fit my taste, and there is probably very few out there like it, but it still isn't a custom.
