Default Went to the dealer...

... walked as fast as I could to the parts counter, trying my best to not deviate from my planned simple route and go off road to see the new CVOs...then I did. I saw it with a corner of my eye. The white CVO ST. Couldn't help myself.

If you are thinking about this bike and didn't see it yet, let me tell you. This thing looks absolutely beautiful in person. There is so much detail on that bike. The whole dash and everything in front of the rider looks as premium as it can get. I really hope they work out all the kinks with the new OS and everything else. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if this will be very hard to find bike as time goes.

On another note. I HATE the dealer experience. I am dreading every time I walk inside my local dealer. The fake salesperson just gives me such a bad vibe. I know you are nice to me right now because your next sentence will be "What do you ride?" followed by "Let's do some numbers!" I get it, I get it. It's sales. But at least don't be fake friendly to me. People can read that ****. You guys get the same vibe at your dealerships?

Usually, one glance at the price tag is enough to make my old bikes take on a whole new beauty in my eyes.

As far as I am concerned, my local dealership only has a parts counter and a washroom...

This sure is an affluent forum, build back better and MAGA must be working. Including both to avoid politics. Not sure I ever looked at CVO at dealership in person.

Just reading a chopper thread, where they said in my day we built them.

The more you ride them, the further away you have to stand from them to still look so damn good.

While sales people are a nuisance, at least they're trying to make a living. Who know why they're there and what cards life dealt them. I can tolerate them.

Funny you mention. CVO was actually the very HD that got me interested in buying a HD. We had a dealer here by me (closed since then) and my wife and I went there just to check things out. No desire to buy anything, just wanted to see. As we were walking out, I see this "gray" bike with bags and these orange accents. First thing I noticed was the tank and a HD logo on it with some orange behind it. I had no idea what a "bagger" what or what Road Glide was or CVO. It was 2018 CVO RG in gray. It was one of the nicest bikes I seen. I still stop and look at it when I see one.

Sometimes it's good to check things out to appreciate the band and what they made.

Yeah I get that. They have to make a living. But you can definitely see and "feel" between fake one and one that is really interested in what you like and want to have a conversation.

That, and free coffee and soda at my local dealer, conveniently located near the parts counter.

what cracks me up is that i have lived in this same location for over 30 years. but everytime i go to the dealer, it's almost like the first time. all new people working in there, so get the same, 'what are you riding now' questions. i know people like to say that you have to buy something from the dealer every now and again to 'maintain that relationship', but if it's all new people, there is no relationship. i know that buying a couple oil filters a year is not going to keep them in business, but i do still want them around for when i need them.

I get a completely different feel and vibe from our HD dealer. Everyone is very respectful and only chats it up with you if you want it. Normally they just ask if you need anything while they are walking by and don't even stop unless you initiate a conversation. Same with all the non-HD bike dealers we have. It's always a really nice experience, actually something fun to go and do is visit our dealers and check out what they have on the floor or working on.
