Just bought a bike this week. Was searching for about 2 weeks and all emails to sellers listed on Cycle Trader were unanswered. Not sure if they keep listings on there after they are sold or it just so happens that every seller I tried to contact didn't respond, but I ended up finding the bike I picked up on Ebay, then contacted the seller after the auction closed and it didn't sell. Saved the seller the eBay fees, so there was a little more room to work.
I never wanted a social media footprint and avoided Facebook all these years.. so finally I broke down and created an account.. got the confirmation through email. I then clicked on a Facebook add someone sent me the link for so that it would open.. I spent about 2 hours looking at Facebook market place at motorcycles with about 500 miles of me. After being impressed I closed out of Facebook and did some work.. a few hours later I got a notification that my Facebook account had been suspended…
I had a Facebook account for like 5 hours.. never sent a message or anything only looked at Facebook listings and my account was frozen.
I too created an FB account only to use marketplace and was locked out just as you described.
I tried Cycle Trader and got no responses. I then listed my bike on Ebay and got several responses and sold it.
