Listed a bike on Cycle Trader once with no luck.
Had better results using FB.

Just bought a bike this week. Was searching for about 2 weeks and all emails to sellers listed on Cycle Trader were unanswered. Not sure if they keep listings on there after they are sold or it just so happens that every seller I tried to contact didn't respond, but I ended up finding the bike I picked up on Ebay, then contacted the seller after the auction closed and it didn't sell. Saved the seller the eBay fees, so there was a little more room to work.

Marketplace is a great way to sell stuff. Lots of locals looking at your posting and its pretty easy to spot a scammer.

I had a Facebook account for like 5 hours.. never sent a message or anything only looked at Facebook listings and my account was frozen.
I too created an FB account only to use marketplace and was locked out just as you described.
I tried Cycle Trader and got no responses. I then listed my bike on Ebay and got several responses and sold it.

There’s only a listing fee for the ad. If you take a deposit through eBay then a fee applies to that.
