Default Drag bars?

I just don't get drag bars. Are they for looks? Are they comfortable? Do your hands go numb? I think they are the ultimate poser bars, and I cant imagine riding with my hands bellow my shoulders. What up with that.

Note sarcasm

Saw a guy on a Triumph wearin' a kilt once. He seemed to be havin' a good time.

There are Drag bars that are not that low,and on a Hot Rod they are the only way to go.It helps keep things tucked in close for those High speed Blasts.
